holodisks and holocubes
Potential configurations for holotechnology storage media have holographic disks (Holodisks or HoloCDs) and holotechnology cubes (Holocubes). A key challenge is that holographic disks and/or holocubes must be accessible to light, but additionally solid in construction. When optimized, these media may hold more than an entire terabyte of content. The consumer market market for holodisks and/or holocubes could grow to several billion dollars by 2010. Future generation generations of holographic information storage, holographic memory, and holotechnology data search processes may go beyond replacing CDs and DVDs. Holographic information processing may take the place of magnetic hard drives as the main format for computer information storage and information processing. Optical information processing systems can become the primary information processing system for personal computers. If the topic interests you, please see Virtual Store .
